A bedtime story written to send them to sleep
A falling rhythm, a soft ending, and their name all the way through it.

Bedtime books have a job to do. They have to slow down, not speed up; the last page has to feel like the end of something.
Our bedtime stories are written that way on purpose — shorter lines towards the end, quieter scenes, and an ending that puts the child safely in bed rather than halfway up a mountain.
For the child who is afraid of the dark
Tell us, and the story will take it seriously. The dark stays dark, the fear is real, and the child does something about it themselves. That is a far better outcome than a book insisting there is nothing to be scared of.
Read it on a phone, in the dark
The digital edition is built for exactly this: one page at a time, swipe to turn, no glare, and it remembers where you stopped when somebody falls asleep in the middle.
Questions
Is it too exciting for bedtime?
Not if you pick the bedtime adventure — it is written with a deliberately falling rhythm and no cliffhanger.
Can I read it offline?
The digital edition includes a PDF you can keep on your phone, so it works on a plane, in a cottage with no signal, anywhere.
