A dark landing with one warm strip of light under Olivia’s bedroom door — The house was going to sleep. Shhh went the stairs. Click went the hall light. Only Olivia was still awake — Olivia, and her rabbit Bun.

Olivia at her window in moonlight, the moonlight unicorn standing among the garden shadows — She peeped through the curtain, just a little. The garden was silver. The grass was silver. And something else was silver too, standing very still by the apple tree.

The moonlight unicorn yawning under a huge moon, Olivia giggling at the window with Bun her rabbit — “You should be asleep,” whispered Olivia. The unicorn opened its mouth in an enormous yaaaawn. Olivia giggled. Bun giggled too, probably. And then everybody, everywhere, went to sleep.
