How it works

Five minutes from you. A book they keep for years.

  1. Tell us about them

Their name, their age, what they are like. Their sister, their grandad, the dog. It takes about five minutes and you can skip anything.

  2. Choose their adventure

Dinosaurs, space, magic, a first day at school. Then tell us anything that makes this book matter — a new baby, a house move, a fear of the dark.

  3. Watch their story come to life

We write the story, design the character, and illustrate every page in the style you picked. It takes a few minutes; you can close the tab and come back.

  4. Read it together

Open it on a phone or tablet and read it that night. Change any page you want to — the words, the pictures, the dedication.

  5. Keep it forever

Keep the digital book — yours forever, on any screen, with a print-quality PDF. Printed hardcovers on thick matte paper, with your dedication inside the front cover, are coming soon.

What goes in

Not a name dropped into someone else’s story

The story is written after you tell us about them, so everything you share changes what actually happens on the page.

  • Their name
  • Their age
  • How they look
  • What they’re like
  • Favourite things
  • Hobbies
  • Best friends
  • Brothers & sisters
  • Mum & Dad
  • Grandparents
  • Pets
  • Big life moments
  • Lessons & themes
  • The adventure they love

The part that makes people cry

“Something special I’d like the story to be about”

One box, in your own words. It becomes the spine of the story rather than a detail in it — the difference between a nice book and the one that gets read every night for a month.

  • She’s starting preschool next month.
  • He’s afraid of sleeping alone.
  • We’re having a new baby.
  • Grandpa lives in Australia.

Inside the book

What a page actually looks like

Every page is a full illustration with the words set beneath it in proper type — never scrawled into the picture, which is why it prints beautifully.

Emma in yellow wellingtons at the end of a walled garden, a small green gate half-hidden behind rose bushes
Emma knew this garden by heart. Eleven roses. One wobbly step. Squelch, squelch went her yellow wellies. But today, behind the roses, there was a small green gate. And yesterday — Emma was quite sure — there had not been.
Emma knocking on the little green gate, one enormous friendly eye of Bracken the dinosaur appearing over the top of it
Knock, knock, knock. “Hello?” called Emma. “Is somebody in there?” Something rustled. Something rumbled. And an enormous eye peeped over the top of the gate.
Bracken the dinosaur lowering his head apologetically over flattened rose bushes while Emma laughs
“Oops,” said the dinosaur. “I’m Bracken. I was only smelling them.” Eleven roses lay flat as pancakes. Emma looked at the roses. She looked at Bracken’s guilty face. And she laughed until her tummy hurt.

Common questions

How long does a book take to make?

Your story is written and the opening spreads are illustrated within a few minutes. You can close the tab while it works — the book waits for you in your library. The pictures for the later pages are painted when you order, which takes a few minutes more.

Can I change the story afterwards?

Yes. Every word of every page can be rewritten before you order anything, and the title and dedication with it. The pages you can read now can also be drawn again as often as you like; the rest are illustrated when you order.

Do I need to upload a photograph?

No — describing them works just as well. If you do upload one, we use it once to draw a single original character, then delete it. Either way, every page of the book is drawn from that one character, which is what keeps them looking the same throughout.

What does it cost?

The digital book is €12.99, and there is no subscription. Printed hardcovers are coming soon — every book you make is saved, so you can order one for it later.
